The bot lost permissions or was removed
If the bot loses permissions or is removed from the channel, it can no longer manage members. New buyers can’t join and existing ones aren’t removed when they cancel.
How you’ll notice
Section titled “How you’ll notice”Grouptizer detects when the bot loses access or permissions in a verified channel, group, or linked discussion group, and notifies you by email and in your in-app notifications. The integration’s page also shows a warning. The flag for a linked discussion group is independent: the channel can keep working while only the discussion group is broken.
Recovery is silent — once you put the bot back with the right permissions, the warning clears on its own and you get no further notice.
You may also spot the problem indirectly:
- Buyers tell you they tapped the invite link and the join request is stuck waiting for approval forever (the bot isn’t there, or doesn’t have permission to approve).
- Expired subscriptions still see the channel content because nobody has been kicked out.
How to fix it
Section titled “How to fix it”- Open Telegram and add @grouptizer_bot back as an admin if it was removed.
- Restore the permissions it needs: Invite Users via Link, Ban Users, and Add New Admins (see Connect a channel or group). These are the same for a group, a channel, and a linked discussion group.
There’s no need to verify again. Once the bot is back in place with the right permissions, the warning and notification clear on their own.
What about buyers who joined while the bot was broken?
Section titled “What about buyers who joined while the bot was broken?”- If you removed the bot completely, those buyers stay where they are. Their access didn’t change.
- If a cancellation happened while the bot was missing permissions, the buyer was not removed automatically. Once the bot is back, you can manually remove them from Telegram, or you can leave them.
- Buyers who tried to join while the bot was broken are still waiting for approval. If you restore the permissions before their request expires, the bot will approve it. If too much time has passed and the request expires, they’ll have to open the invite link again.
